With a climate best described as “Mediterranean”, the Hunter region enjoys magnificent balmy days and evenings in spring and summer and brisk nights in autumn and winter.
In summer the average daily temperature varies from 25°C to 35°C and in winter 16°C to 18°C, then dipping overnight. January is the hottest month and July the coolest. The most rainfall is in sub-tropical summer, with a secondary peak just before winter and an average annual rainfall of 750mm.
From wide surfing beaches to verdant plains, inland waterways to navigable lakes, ocean cliffs to vineyard-covered hills, the Hunter region has it all.
